William Lee "Bill" Pittman, known affectionately as Bill, passed away on April 5, 2024, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. He was born on February 3, 1949, in Sandusky, Ohio. Bill led a fulfilling life as a Field Engineer for a major bakery equipment manufacturer and later served the community as a zoning technician for the county government in Florida.
His boundless enthusiasm for life was evident to all who knew him. Bill found great joy in his hobbies, especially as an avid ham radio enthusiast. His love for fishing, boating, snorkeling, and all water-related activities illuminated his adventurous spirit.
Bill's warmth and light will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn Unger Pittman. He is also survived by his two sons Darin Pittman of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Micah Pittman of Hudson, FL. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Nichole Pittman and Zackary Pittman of Berkeley Springs, WV, as well as his great-grandson Ash and one daughter in law Tracy Pittman.
In this time of loss, Bill is reunited with his parents, the late Carl and Geneva Golden Pittman. He is remembered fondly by his brother James Pittman and sister Phyllis Farris of Needmore, PA.
A visitation service to honor Bill's life will be held at Needmore Bible Church on Friday , April 12, 2024. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM to pay their respects at 6939 Great Cove Rd in Needmore, PA. A Life Honored Service will follow at 12:00 pm. Pastor Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will be held at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Bill's memory will live on through the stories shared by those who knew him best. May he rest in peace knowing he brought light and love to all he encountered.
