Wayne A. Younker, age 75, of Needmore, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home.
Born August 23, 1936, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Edgar and Bessie Younker Shives.
He was employed as a truck driver.
He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife, Alice I. Mills Younker, whom he married March 5, 1954, in Hagerstown, Md.; one son, Wayne Younker, Jr., of Needmore; four daughters, Teresa Whittaker, of Clear Spring, Md., Bonnie Unger, of Hancock, Md., Sandy Wills, of Needmore, and Michelle Gunnell, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; one brother, Marshall Younker; three sisters, Phyllis Jenson, Virginia Reiff and Laverne Barney; grandchildren, April Hiller, Lance Younker, Desirae Ulsh, Chelsea Unger, Allison Wills, and Garett Unger; great-grandchildren, Lane Younker, Jacob Younker, Lydia, Jillian and Mia Hiller.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Bonnie Gordon, and Lorraine Mills; brothers, Dick Shives, Donald Younker, Homer, and Bob Shives; and son-in-law, Kim Whittaker.
A service will be held on Monday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m., at Wesleyan Chapel. Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, Md., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church on Monday, from 1 to 2 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
