Walter Lewis Morris, age 56, of Hancock, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born May 26, 1956 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Julia Morris Gallion, of Hancock, and the late Ernest Morris.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #26, in Hancock.

Besides his mother, he is survived by five brothers and their wives, Ernest and Becky Morris, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Robert and Sharon Morris, of Mercersburg, Pa., Lester and Anita Morris, Christopher and Patty Morris, all of Hancock, and Wayne and Beth Morris, of Hagerstown; one sister, Della Smith, of Hancock; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Morris; and two sisters, Mary Golden, and Sarah Younker.

A service will be held at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock, on Wednesday, February 20, at 3:00. Rev. Lowell Bard will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, near Hancock.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions, to help defray funeral expenses, may be made to Julia Gallion, 252 Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md. 21750.
