Virginia M. Helm, age 86, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center, near Hagerstown, Md.

Born December 19, 1930, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lyda (French) Mosier.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Helm.

She was a 1948 graduate of Hancock High School, and a 1952 graduate of Towson State Teachers College.

She was a member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, in Hancock, Md.

Virginia was a teacher in the Baltimore County school system for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Helm Ingram and husband, Jonathan, of McLean, Va.; one son, Paul C. Helm, Jr. and companion, Christine Price, of Hagerstown; three sisters, Mildred Parsons, of Lexington, Va., Jean Watson, of Leesburg, Va, and Carol Close, of Hancock, Md.; two grandsons, Andrew Ingram and Ryan Price; two granddaughters, Alexandra Ingram and Rachel Price; and one great-grandson, Raylan Starliper.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 2 East High Street, Hancock. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate.
