Big Pool, Maryland
Virgil E. Creek, age 91, a resident of Charlotte’s Home, and formerly of Big Pool, Md., died Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born January 28, 1920 in Little Orleans, Md., he was the son of the late Raymond W. and Julia Boden Creek, and the widower of Grace Normalee Fletcher Creek, who died on April 18, 2008.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was retired from Mack Truck as a milling machine operator.
He was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Sherry Shives, of Big Pool, Md.; two sons, Terry Creek, of State Line, Pa., and Earnest Creek, of Clear Spring, Md.; two brothers, Carl Creek, of Little Orleans, Md., and Millard Creek of Hancock, Md.; two sisters, Hazel Souders, of Hancock, Md., and Edna Oliver, of Louisville, Oh.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Hancock, Md. Pastor Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will be in the Price-Wesleyan Memorial Cemetery in Little Orleans, Md.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Church will be open from 3 to 8 p.m.
