Stephen Leroy Scott, age 65, of Little Orleans, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ , Saturday, December 10, 2011, at his home.
He is sadly missed by his wife, Doris-Jean (Ledbetter) Scott; his beloved daughter, Mary Edith Scott-Lauterbach, and husband Austin Lauterbach; son, Dwight Barth; step-children, Dorilee, and husband Noel Kilroy, Joanne, and husband William Croak, Bret Barth, Phillip Bidinger, and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Ashley Oxendine, Morgan, Misti, Crystal and Colin Lauterbach, Lisa Kilroy and Jena Kilroy-Cezar.
He is sadly missed by special friends, Lee and Jeani Frank; and his constant companion, Jumper.
He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea from 1965 to 1966, as a Medical Specialist of the 567th Medical Corp, a Support Unit for those serving in Vietnam. He had great respect for all those who served.
He attended Piney Plains United Methodist Church, Little Orleans, Md., and was a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172 in Cumberland.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 17, at 11:00 a.m., at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church. Rev. John Close will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family, in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
We don’t know what life has in store for us. We can only trust in God’s love. We must not lose faith that we will meet again. When it’s time for me to come home, then we will never be apart again. Your loving wife.
