Shirley Ann Mills, age 78, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her home.

Born February 13, 1939, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel (Stotler) Iden, and the widow of Lewis Martin Mills, who died August 26, 2015.

She was a graduate of Hancock High School.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren, in Hagerstown, Md.

Shirley was a homemaker; and she also drove a bus for the Broadfording Christian Academy; worked at Weaver’s Restaurant, in Hancock; worked as a homecare aid for several years; and she worked at the Park-n-Dine restaurant in Hancock, where she met her husband of the past sixty years.

Her greatest love was family time, and she was a mother to a lot of people in the area.

She is survived by seven children, Pamela Ambrose and her husband, Russell, Lewis Mills and his wife, Belinda, Tina Churchill and her husband, David, Michael Mills and his wife, Melissa, Luwanna Hull and her husband, Jimmy, Mark Mills and his wife, Mina, and William Mills and his wife, Beth; a sister, Patsy Ann Morris; two brothers, Melvin and Paul Iden; twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Mills; a great-granddaughter, Serenity Grace Unger; a sister, Catherine Getson; and brothers, Jim, Harry, Kenneth, Fred, June and Floyd Iden.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, Pa. Pastor Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will follow at the Shanktown Cemetery, in Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday.

Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
