Sharon Lucille Reed

Sharon Lucille Reed, age 78, of Hancock, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at her home.

Born March 15, 1948, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James L. Reed, Sr. and Venetta H. Reed.

Sharon was a 1966 graduate of Hancock High School. She worked at Fleetwood Travel Trailer for thirty-two years. She then went on to work at Volvo Powertrain/Mack Truck for fourteen years.

She was a lifelong member of Orchard Ridge Church of God and a member of UAW Local 171, Hagerstown, Maryland, for fourteen years.

Sharon loved playtime with her beautiful cat “Snowball” and spending weekends with her family. She attended several missionary trips with her church to New Mexico.

She is survived by two sisters, Wilma Powell of Clear Spring, Maryland, and Deborah Stouffer of Hagerstown, Maryland; one brother, James L. Reed, Jr. of Fort Ashby, West Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Polly Reed of Hancock, Maryland, and Breanda Reed of Fort Ashby, West Virginia; and ten nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Larry “Pork” Reed; two nephews, Johnny Reed, and Walter “Pudge” Reed; and one niece, Tammy Reed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at Orchard Ridge Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, MD 21750. Pastor Jeff Hawbaker will officiate.
