Robert Lewis Wallizer, Jr.

Robert Lewis Wallizer, Jr. passed away November 30, 2025, at Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital under the care of Heartland Hospice. Robert fought a courageous battle. While the cancer may have silenced his voice, his courage and determination never wavered.

Born March 25, 1975, in Hagerstown MD, he is the son of the late Robert Wallizer, Sr. and Teresa Ashkettle Wallizer.

In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by a sister, Kimberly Smith (Glen), niece Eva Sutphin (Micah), nephew Clayton Smith (Jill), and nephew Charles Smith (Tom). He also leaves behind great-nephew Cooper and great-niece Montana, one aunt, many cousins and his cat Grimmy.

He was a 1993 graduate of Hancock High School. Robert was of the Catholic faith. He spent 30 years employed by JLG in McConnellsburg as a welder. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed playing his mandolin, banjo, and guitar- a love passed on to him by his father, with whom he spent many hours picking. Robert had a love for bluegrass music and the outdoors. In his spare time, he could be found hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms, or hiking through the woods. He had a heart of gold and found great joy lavishing his family with wonderful gifts.

Besides his father, Robert was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Viewing will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:45p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 East High Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Rev. John J. Lombardi will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heartland Hospice, 1976 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg PA, 17201.
