Robert V. Thompson age 80 of High Germany Road , died Friday November 13, 2009 at his home.

Born September 25, 1929 in Hancock , Maryland , he was the son of the late Emory and Pearl Mitchell Thompson.

He was retired from Mack Truck as a machinery operator.

He was a member of the UAW local Hagerstown , MD.

He was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Mae Hovermale Thompson whom he married September 18, 1949 in Clearspring, MD, five daughters, Nancy Rinard and Patricia Wodal both of Hancock, MD, Jane Sarricchio of Dayton, FL, Connie Malekar of Great Cacapon, WV, Susan Bennett of Mercersburg, PA, three sons, Terry Thompson of Leetown, Missouri, Mark Thompson of Hopewell, PA and Timothy Thompson of Hancock, MD. fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

A service will be held Monday November 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hancock Assembly of God, 431 N. PA. Avenue, Hancock , MD , Pastor Don Preston and Pastor Robert Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery , Needmore , PA.

The family will receive friends on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hancock Assembly of God, 431 N. PA. Ave. Hancock , MD.
