Robert Sigel

Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania

Robert E. Sigel, age 85, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his home.

Born December 29, 1931, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Elmer and Nellie (Hill) Sigel, and the husband of Shirley A. (Wheeler) Sigel, whom he married on August 3, 1957. He passed away one day before their 60th wedding anniversary.

Robert was a farmer, an insurance agent, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Robert was a member of Bedford Chapel Church, in Warfordsburg, and a member of Gideon International.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Wheeler) Sigel; a daughter, K. Sue Salvaggio, and a son, R. Scott Sigel, both of State College, Pa.; four grandchildren, Katie N. Salvaggio, of Aiken, S.C., Tucker J. Sigel of Columbus, Oh., Jamie E. Salvaggio and Grace E. Sigel, both of State College; four brothers, George Sigel, Donnie Sigel, Dale Sigel and Paul Sigel, all of Warfordsburg, Pa.; and one sister, Kathryn Gordon, of Needmore, Pa.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
