Robert Charles Hill went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Fort Washington Medical Center in Fort Washington, Md.
Bobby was born February 1, 1940, at home in Plum Run, Thompson Township, Pa. to Marshall and Beatrice Stoner Hill.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tanya Ann Hill; three brothers, James, Gary, and Randy Hill; three sisters, Eleanor Fink, Dorothy Hixon, and Mildred Shives Hood; three grandsons, Austin, Connor and Dylan Hill; and his former wife, Ann Thorton.
Bobby leaves behind his loving wife, and partner in their family plumbing business of fifty years, Norma Lee Hixon Hill.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brett Halsey Hill.
Bobby was a 1957 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.
He was a 3rd class airman in the U.S. Air Force where he served for six years, 1960-1966, as a medic at Gunter Air Force Base in Alabama. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 1965.
After his time in the military, Bobby left the family farm as a young man and went to the D.C. area. He became a Master Plumber and began his own business, R.C. Hill Inc., which became a successful business until his retirement in recent years.
Bobby served as deacon and member of the building committee of the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Camp Springs, Md.
Bobby had many interests and hobbies.
He loved his Goldwing motorcycle and, in 2011, at the age of seventy-one, enjoyed an 8,000-mile cross country road trip with his wife and brothers.
Bobby also enjoyed building and flying ultralight airplanes and boating.
Many family members enjoyed the tours that Bobby gave them of our Nation’s Capital, D.C.
He was a wonderful tour guide and added fun and adventure to those trips.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. 21750.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Rd, Warfordsburg, Pa. 17267 with one hour visitation prior at the church. Pastor Bill Croteau will officiate. Burial will follow at the Buck Valley Christian Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobby’s name can be made to the Tri-State Honor Guard, 527 N. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
