Robert Joseph “Bob” Forshaw, age 70, of Hancock, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at his home.
Born December 16, 1940, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert James and Marie Ann Dragg Forshaw.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, 18th Airborne & Electronic Board, from 1958 to 1961.
He retired, as a Major, in 2003, from the Western Correctional Institute, in Cumberland, Md.
He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Association, 18th Airborne Corps, and a member of the Hancock Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol Ann Shaffer Forshaw; children, Ruth Ann Brown of Fl., Robert J. Forshaw, of Ca., and Christine Forshaw, of Ca.; one sister, Marie Ann Kelly of Va.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Forshaw.
A service will be held Monday, November 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hancock Presbyterian Church. Rev. Carol Davis will officiate. Burial, with Military Honors, will be at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md. at 2:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
