Reed Flowers

Reed Elsworth Flowers, age 92, of Hancock, Md., died on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Berkeley Springs Center, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born September 26, 1924, in Hancock, he was the son of the late John Edward and Jeannie May (Brady) Flowers; and the husband of his loving wife, Reva Fern (Hovermale) Flowers.

He attended school in Hancock.

He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, in Hancock.

He retired from the maintenance department of the Maryland Military Department Camp Baker Training Site, in Hancock. He had also worked at Everett Hardwood Floors, Fairview Orchards and Holloway Construction Company.

Reed loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, hunting, fishing and working in his garden growing potatoes and tomatoes.

In addition to his wife, Reva, he is survived by two sons, Mike Flowers and Lawrence Flowers and his wife, Debra; four grandchildren, Angie Flowers, Matthew Flowers, Bobbi Jo Kelley and her husband, Kent, and Miranda K. Kerns and her husband, Casey; and three great-grandchildren, Noah True, Lucas Morgan and Carter Kerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Amos, Jim, Carl and Ernest Flowers; and three sisters, Mary McCusker, Lucy Mann Adelsberger, and Iva Shives.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., and one hour preceding the funeral services.

Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Mark Faith. Burial will follow in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, in Hagerstown, Md.
