Naomi Virginia Shives Younker Hendershot, age 86, of Hancock, Md., died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born December 4, 1928, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ashby P. and Margaret Yost Shives.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Allen Elwood Younker, whom she married November 24, 1945, and who died March 13, 1994; and her second husband, Donald Lee Hendershot, who died September 2, 2002.

She was a graduate of Hancock High School.

She was a homemaker, and had been employed with Dillion Orchards, Fairchild Industries, and Maryland Restaurant.

She was a member of the Hancock American Legion Post #26 Auxiliary; a member of the Redmen’s Club in Williamsport, Md.; and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

She is survived by four sons, Rodney A. Younker and wife, Joyce, Michael L. Younker and wife, Janet, all of Hancock, Larry W. Younker, Sr., and Gayle P. Younker, Sr. and wife, Robin, all of Hagerstown, Md.; four daughters, Gloria L. Fleegle and husband, George, Denise L. Potter and husband, Stanley, all of Hancock, Joan C. Younker, of Clear Spring, Md., and Ramona K. Kesselring and husband, John, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; eight step-children; a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Christopher Younker; and one grandson, Terry Eugene Fleegle.

A service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Lowell Bard and Rev. Alice Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Piney Plains United Methodist Cemetery, in Little Orleans, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m.
