Melinda Lee (Keefer) Souders, age 40, of Little Orleans, Md., passed away on June 13, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her numerous loved ones.

Born March 4, 1978, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Terrance and Debra (Unger) Keefer, of Hancock, Md.

Mendy fought a courageous battle with breast cancer. Her strength to get through one trial after another came from her faith, and the love of her family and faithful friends. That kept her always singing “It’s All God’s Timing. God Has A Plan.”

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Daniel Souders, whom she married on October 2, 1999; five children, Kara Paige (McKinley) Barnhart, Ethan Daniel Souders, Brady Camden Souders, Azalee Grace Souders, and Kaybree Danielle Souders, all of Little Orleans; one sister, Tera Swisher and husband, Shane, of Hancock, Md.; two brothers, Scott Dean Keefer and wife, Cory, and Bobby Joe Keefer and wife, Heather, all of Little Orleans; and several nieces and nephews, who loved their “aunt Mendy.”

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 Douglas St., Hancock, Md., where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon. Bishop Lance Hendershot will be officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Catholic cemetery.
