Mary Nellie Johnson, age 90, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Hancock, at the home of her sister, Millie Weller.

Born April 20, 1927, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Gearhart and Bessie (Barthalow) Gearhart Gordon, and the widow of Elmer Neal Johnson, whom she married November 1, 1972 and who passed away on May 21, 1996.

She was formerly employed as a cook for the Woodmont Rod and Gun Club, near Hancock.

In addition to her sister, Millie, she is survived by one daughter, Betty Lou Fletcher, of Hagerstown, Md.; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Fink; a sister, Evelyn Onusko; and two brothers, Charles Gearhart and Boyd Gearhart.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
