Mary M. “Tillie” Exline, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014 at her home.

Born February 7, 1927, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Laura G. Keefer Hess, and the widow of James K. “Twig” Exline, who died on March 18, 1995.

She was employed with the Interfaith Service Coalition at the Loaves and Fishes Thrift Store, in Hancock.

She was of the Protestant faith; was a past member of the Hancock Rescue Squad Auxiliary; and she attended McConnellsburg, Pa. schools.

She is survived by one son, James C. Exline and wife, Twana, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three daughters, Beverly Burnett, of Hancock, Cindy Exline, of Irvine, Ca., and Diana Douglas and husband, Lynn, of Big Cove Tannery; six grandchildren, Tina Exline, of Boonsboro, Md., Zach Burnett, of Hancock, Michael Douglas and wife, Jennifer, of Big Cove Tannery, Amy Knight and husband, Craig, of Hagerstown, Md., Hollie Adams and husband, Jason, of Tower City, Pa., and Matthew Burnett, of New York; six great-grandchildren, Colby Knight, Dawson Douglas, Marley Knight, Gabe Burnett, Peyton Adams, and Hadley Rose Adams; one nephew, Ron Ellis, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and one niece, Lonna Ellis, of Norristown, Pa.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Douglas Burnett.

A service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. and Rev. John Barlow will officiate. Burial will be in the Damascus Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, Pa.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Interfaith Service Coalition, 116 West High Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
