Marion Mellott

Marion Elizabeth Mellott, age 95, of Warfordsburg, died on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Fulton County Medical Center, in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born November 28, 1919, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clyde B. and Ila J. Effland Hixon, and the widow of Mearl T. Mellott, who died April 18, 1980.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Warfordsburg United Methodist Church, and a member of the Warfordsburg Senior Center.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald D. Mellott and wife, Joanne, and Lee A. Mellott and wife, Polly, all of Warfordsburg; seven grandchildren, Michelle Hann and husband, Shawn, Jennifer Nicole Ziler and husband, Brian, Bonnie Buterbaugh and husband, Rodney, Jeff Reed and wife, Teresa, Daryl Reed and wife, Kim, L.A. Mellott, ll and wife, Kim, and Ann Marie Bittinger and husband, David; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Divel, of Hancock, and Wanda Donegan, of La Vale, Md.

She was preceded in death by  two sisters, Mildred Coffman and Alta Miller; and two brothers, Robert Hixon and Berman Lee Hixon.

A service will be held on Thursday, June 11, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Frank Kocek and Rev. Steve Corbett will officiate. Burial will be in Catalpa Cemetery, near Hancock, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4 until 8 p.m.
