Margaret “Peggy” Keefer, 86, of Hancock, MD passed away Thursday May 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 6, 1939, in Annapolis, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Cole Brooks, and the wife of Delmas Keefer.
Peggy enjoyed bowling with her family and friends. She made numerous visits to the local senior center where she enjoyed talking and spending quality time with friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending precious time with her family.
Peggy was a member of the Hancock Church of God.
Peggy is survived by her husband Delmas; eight children, Karen Hixon Rohm and husband Kevin, Scott Keefer and wife Erika, Kristen and Kimberly Keefer, Ralph, Ben, Charles, and Margaret Rogers; two grandchildren, Kiara and Seina Keefer; one brother, Jessie Brooks; and two sisters, Carol Long and Susie Brooks and many nieces and nephews. The Keefer family would like to give “ A very special thanks to Hospice of Washington County for their gracious compassion”.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Guy Hixon, Jr.; brother, Bobby Brooks and her sister, Joanne Lanham.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 21, 2026, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm, at Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 14253 Exline Rd., Hancock, MD. Pastor Jeff Hawbaker will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be mailed to Margaret G. Keefer, 2587 National Pike, Hancock, MD 21750 to help defray funeral expenses.
