Magdalene Martha Burnett, age 96, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Greenfield Senior Living, in Hagerstown, Md.

The youngest of twelve children, she was born January 20, 1920, in Sleepy Creek, W.Va., the daughter of the late Albert and Amanda (Kemp) Fox, and the widow of Harold A. Burnett, who passed away November 19, 2000.

She had been formerly employed by Londontown Mfg., in Hancock, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Flowers and husband, James, Jr., of Hancock; one son, Charles Burnett and wife, Dott, of Hancock; four grandchildren, David Flowers, of Hancock, Dennis Flowers, of Towson, Md., Charles Burnett, of Hagerstown, Md., and  Robin Burnett, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Burnett, who died November 4, 1950.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Rev. Brad Nigh will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Alpine United Methodist Cemetery, on Pious Church Road in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 21, from 6 until 8 p.m.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Greenfield Senior Living for their attentive care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Timonium, Md., 21093.
