Lucy Frances Werdebaugh, age 82, of Hancock, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at her home.

Born October 15, 1929, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William McKinley Fritzman, Sr. and Anna Pearl Henry Fritzman, and the widow of Herbert Edgar Werdebaugh, who died December 15, 1996.

She was employed at the former National Restaurant in Hancock, for 35 years as a cook, and was of the protestant faith.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene K. Mellott, of Hancock; and one son, Ronnie W. Werdebaugh, Sr., of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Ricky D. Mellott, Jr., Ronnie W. Werdebaugh, Jr., and Leslie D. Caldwell and husband, Michael; three great-grandchildren, Destiny M. Mellott, Peyton M. Caldwell, and Airyanna G. Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dortha Widmyer, and Viola Fritzman; and two brothers, Walter Fritzman, and William McKinley Fritzman, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 1, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21742.
