Lucy M. (Pellegrini) Leino, age 86, of Hancock, Md., passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at her home.
Born in Baltimore, Md., April 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Garbo Pellegrini.
She, and her husband Kal, lived in Dundalk, Md. for 35 years. They moved to Hancock in 1984, following his retirement from Bethlehem Steel in 1983.
She was a loving, caring mother, and devoted wife.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kaleva “Kal” Leino, whom she married in 1945; one brother, Frank; two nieces; three nephews, Andrew Frederick Kaufmann and wife Charlene, of Tn., Mark Eric Kaufmann, of Garland, Maine, and David Jonathan Kaufmann, of Bangor, Maine; and caregiver, Brenda Douglas, of Hancock.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Karl, who was killed in Vietnam in 1969; one daughter, Karen Marie, who passed away in 1995 from ovarian cancer; and two sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock, Friday, January 6, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m.
