Louis F. Hejl, Sr., age 83, of Needmore, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born February 15, 1929, in Baltimore City, Md., he was the son of the late Louis A. and Jennett (Single) Hejl, and the husband of Hilda L. (Wilson) Hejl, of Needmore, Pa.

He retired in 1991 from Thompson Steel.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Louis F. Hejl, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, Thomas Hejl and wife, Sheila; two step-sons, Joseph D. Harvey, Sr. and wife, Peggy, and Richard W. Harvey and wife Ellen; three step-daughters, Linda Pappas, Wanda Woodal and husband, Tommy, and Dora Pinder; two sisters, Dolores Gettings and husband, Walt, and Patricia Hejl; granddaughter and caregiver, Becky Runyon.

A service will be held Thursday, March  22, at 10:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock, Md. Rev. Dick Bernhard will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m.
