Lewis Martin Mills, age 79, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at his home.

Born September 19, 1935, in Buck Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Winfield A. and Hazel Carbaugh Mills.

He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.

He was employed as a truck driver with KAT Trucking, in Baltimore, Md.

He was a member of the Broadfording Church of the Brethren, where he was captain of the Bus Ministry. He had been a bus driver for seven years.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 911, in Hagerstown, Md.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley A. Iden Mills; three daughters, Pamela Ambrose and husband, Russell, of Thurmont, Md., Tina Churchill and husband, David, of Inwood, W.Va., and Luwanna Grafton and husband, Dwayne, of Kearneysville, W.Va.; four sons, Lewis Mills and companion, Belinda Eidsness, and William Mills and wife, Beth, all of Hancock, Md., Michael Mills and wife, Melissa, and Mark Mills and wife, Marcella, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three sisters, Mary, Esther and Rebecca; two brothers, Ray and William; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tanya Renee Mills; two brothers, Alvin and Richard; and one great-granddaughter, Serenity Unger.

A service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at the Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, Pa. Rev. Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m, and on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m.
