Lester Miller McCusker

Lester Miller McCusker, 90, of Big Pool, MD, passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Big Pool, MD.

Born on December 30, 1935, in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Austin William and Anna Mae Miller McCusker.

Lester was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1954-1957.

He was a Master Electrician employed by I.B.E.W. in Baltimore, eventually retiring from the City of Hagerstown as an Electrical Inspector.

He was a member of Mt Carmel United Methodist Church in Big Pool, MD. He was also a member of Clear Spring American Legion Post 222.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Joan Loretta McCusker; son, Roger McCusker; and two daughters-in-law, Vicky McCusker and Mary McCusker. A grandson, Travis McCusker; five brothers, Loyal, Donnie, Kenneth, Urcel, and Gail; and four sisters, Marion Kerns, Louise Kidwell, Regina Manning, and Margaret McCusker.

Lester is survived by four sons, Timothy McCusker, Hancock, MD, Gregory McCusker, Clear Spring, MD, David McCusker (Bonnie), Iva, SC, Eric McCusker (Beth), Williamsport, MD; daughter, Cynthia Thomas (Rick), Big Pool, MD; daughter-in-law, Teresa McCusker, Hedgesville, WV. Thirteen grandchildren, Troy McCusker, Brandy Youngblood, Jason Green, Holly Thomas, Cody Thomas, Paul McCusker, Amanda McCusker, Beth McCusker Barr, Zoe McCusker, Gracie Drawdy, Lane McCusker, Marlie McCusker, and Chance McCusker; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Vlasach.

Viewing to be held at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10a.m. to 12p.m. Funeral service to begin at 12:00p.m. Pastor Lyn Horst will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 11367 Big Pool Rd, Big Pool, MD 21711.
