Lester Ross Garland, Jr., age 48, of Berkeley Springs, died on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, in Baltimore, Md.
Born May 31, 1967 in Killeen, Tx., he was the son of Russell and Glenda May (Didawick) Duvall, of Warfordsburg Pa., and the late Lester Ross Garland, Sr. He was the husband of Laura A. (Kump) Garland, of Berkeley Springs, whom he married October 4, 2008 at the Needmore Bible Church.
He was a member of the Cutting Edge Ministries Church, in Hagerstown, Md.
He was formerly employed by Rayloc Inc, in Hancock, Md., and more recently by Blue Flame, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He was a 1985 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa., and received his CDL, as well as a degree from Vale Technical Institute, in Blairsville, Pa.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter, Xylina Reese and husband Tyler, of Saint Pauls, N.C.; one sister, Penny Roman and husband, Jason, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Reese and Tyler Cole Reese, ll.; and one step-daughter, Josie Spade, of Hagerstown, Md.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one infant brother, Tommy Garland.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m., at the Needmore Bible Church. Pastor Doug Poffenberger and Pastor Brett McCoy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Christian Cemetery , in Warfordsburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, Pa., on Thursday, March 17, from 5 until 8 p.m.
