Leroy Barnhart

Leroy Grant Barnhart, age 88, of Warfordsburg, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at his home.

Born February 22, 1924, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Grant and Bertha Virginia Layton Barnhart.

He retired in 1985 as purchasing agent for H.B. Mellott Estate, Inc., in Warfordsburg.

He was a member and an Elder of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Ward Barnhart, whom he married December 27, 1945; one daughter, Ginger Majecki, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one son, Larry L. Barnhart, of Tampa, Fl.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Barnhart; and one half-brother, Fred Barnhart; and two half-sisters, Geneva and Stella.

A service will be held on Saturday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m., at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.  Rev. Edward Blank will officiate. Burial, with a military service by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Faith Center, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. 17267
