Leona Pearl Atherly, age 79, of Hancock, Md., died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, in Mt. Airy, Md.
Born Tuesday, March 23, 1937, in Oil City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edna McDade.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was the former owner/operator of the American Molding Co., in Boonsboro, Md.
She was a graduate of Highland View Academy, in Hagerstown, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Crystal Rose, of Hancock; one son Jerry Haines, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, William Haines, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Smithsburg Cemetery, in Smithsburg, Md.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 26, from noon until time of the service.
