Lavon Brumback, 76, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his home.
Born Friday, April 23, 1948, in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Aquilla Younker Brumback.
Lavon was a US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He retired from Pangborn Manufacturing, Hagerstown, MD and he worked as a diesel mechanic for Black Stallion Monster Truck.
He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lavon is survived by four children, Angel Brumback, Danielle Brumback, Latonya and spouse Ericka “Debow” Gundy, and Jamie Brumback all of Hagerstown, MD; five sisters, Carol Brumback of Hancock, MD, Linda Green of Hagerstown, MD, Mary Brumback of Chicago, IL, Joyce Younker of Hancock, MD, and Brenda Mitzel of York, PA; three brothers, Philip Brumback of Hancock, MD, Terry Brumback of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Nelson Brumback of Hagerstown, MD; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Brumback.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 E. High Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Father Jack Lombardi will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lavon’s name can be made to the Tri-State Honor Guard, 527 N. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
