Joyce Elizabeth Stevens, age 74, of Hancock, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Autumn Acres Rehab and Nursing, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born January 15, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Clara Lumn Lapole, and widow of the late John Stevens, who passed away in 2003.
She was retired from the Offray Ribbon Co., in Hagerstown, Md.
She was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She and her late husband loved fishing together.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Stauffer, of Boonsboro, Md.; and one son, Terry Stevens, of Clear Spring, Md.; one sister, Carole M. Wilhelm, of Hancock; three brothers, Raymond Lapole, of Marion, Pa., Ralph Lapole, of Hagerstown, Md., and Rickie Lapole, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Hughes.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
