Joan Houdersheldt

Joan Ann Houdersheldt, age 75, died on Friday, August 28, 2015, at the Chambersburg Hospital, in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born May 1, 1940, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Evelyn Talbot Machen.

She was a 1959 graduate of Sparrows Point High School, in Baltimore.

She was retired from the London Fog Manufacturing Company, as a seamstress.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Buchanan, and Cheryl Iden, both of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Teresa Houdersheldt, of Orange Park, Fla.; three sons, John Houdersheldt, Jr., of Hancock, Md, Dave Houdersheldt, of Needmore, Pa., and Will Houdersheldt, of Johnstown, Pa.; two sisters, Pat Zulke, of Baltimore, Md., and Shirley Swingler, of Princeton, Tx.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five nieces; and four nephews.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Larry Lee Iden, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
