Hilda "Vi" Bowers, age 95, of Resley Street, died Saturday February 13, 2010 at her home.

Born August 30, 1914 in Fulton County , PA., she was the daughter of the late Jacob Elmer and Harriet Alice Hepler Powell and the widow of Charles William Bowers, who died in 1966, and whom she married March 28, 1937 in Middletown , MD.

She retired in 1980 as a supervisor from Londontown Mfg. formerly in Hancock , MD.

She attended Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church and was a member of the O.E.S. Hancock, MD.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Fritz of Hancock , MD.; one sister, Naomi Rummel of Mt. Vernon , OH.; one granddaughter, Danielle Kann; one grandson, Jarrin White; three step-grandsons, Rod Fritz, Allen Fritz and Tyler Fritz; one great-grandson, Benjamin Kann. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Opal Seavolt, Louise Seavolt and Margaret Apple; six brothers, Stanley Powell, Floyd Powell, Carl Powell, Donald Powell, Henry Powell and Johnny Powell.

A service will be held Wednesday February 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Edward Blank will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport , MD.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church Faith Center and at the church on Wednesday 10-11 a.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church c/o Dianna Kincaid, 6251 Thompson Road , Needmore , PA. 17238 .

Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock , MD.
