Hazel M. McAllister, age 98, of Clear Spring, Md., died on Monday, February 23, 2015, at her home.

Born September 21, 1916, in Big Pool, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Grant and Bessie Irene Hart Turner, and the widow of Floyd C. McAllister, who died May 7, 1983.

She attended Big Pool and Clear Spring schools.

She was a homemaker; a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church; and a member of the Ruritan Club, in Big Pool, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlene M. Bragunier and husband, Donald, of Clear Spring; a daughter-in-law, Peggy McAllister, of Hancock, Md.; two sisters, Lucille Mummert, of Hagerstown, Md., and Peggy Moore, of Clear Spring; eight grandchildren, Curt Bragunier, Dawn “Missy” Bragunier, Beth Bragunier Long, Tina Younker, Scott McAllister, Carol Burnett, Brenda Pittman and Donald Burnett; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, W. Wayne McAllister; a great-granddaughter, Erica Dawn Burnett; a grandson, Jason Long; a sister, Ada K. Reed; and a brother, Charles Turner.

The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers with Stay at Home Senior Services of Maryland, and Hospice of Washington County.

A service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 12:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.  Pastor Curtis King will officiate. Burial will follow in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
