George M. “Buck” Everett, Sr., age 88, of Hancock, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the home of his son, George M. Everett, Jr., of Hancock.

Born August 20, 1923, in Hancock, he was the son of the late John and Hallie Jane Corbett Everett, and the widower of Edna May Flowers Everett Divelbiss.

He attended Hancock area schools.

He was a veteran of WW ll, serving in the U.S. Army, in New Guinea and the South Philippines.

He was retired from Fairchild Industries, in Hagerstown, Md., and had been employed by Fleetwood Industries, in Hancock.

He was a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post #26 American Legion, in Hancock.

He is survived by two sons, John Larry Everett, of Havelock, NC., George M. Everett, Jr., of Hancock, Md.; one daughter, Sharon Ann Workman; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Willard Everett.

A service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock, Md. Rev. Kathy Spitzer will officiate. Burial, with a military graveside service by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will be in the Parkhead Cemetery, Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m.
