Calvin Barton, age 68, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Fulton County Medical Center, in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born December 4, 1950, in Knobsville, Pa., he was the son of the late George Calvin, Sr. and Esta (Everetts) Barton; and the husband of Cheryl (Ward) Barton for forty-nine years.

He graduated from Southern Fulton High School in Warfordsburg with the class of 1969.

He was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, in Needmore, Pa.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, and retired from employment with Hamilton Hyundai, in Chambersburg, Pa.

He loved spending time with his family and going on family outings.

In addition to his wife, Calvin is survived by a son, Scott M. Barton, of Warfordsburg; two daughters, Melissa A. Scholtz and her husband, Kevin, of Bedford, Pa., and Megan R. DeShong and her husband, Keith, of Needmore, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Allison, Erika, Tanner, Jessica, Shawna, Kirkland, Camden, Olivia and Daphne; three brothers, Nelson, James, and Timothy Barton; two sisters, Christena Weller, and Shirley Truax; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m., in the Needmore Bible Church cemetery with Rev. Doug Poffenberger officiating. The family will receive friends in the church on Friday for one hour prior to the graveside service.

There will be an additional memorial service on Saturday, June 29, at 4:00 p.m. at the Needmore Bible Church.
