Frieda Myrth Bible Smith, age 89, of Little Orleans, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home.

She was the widow of Paul Nelson Smith, Sr., whom she married May 1, 1946, and who passed away October 13, 2013.

She was born September 10, 1924, in Flintstone, Md., the daughter of the late James Grant and Dorothy Crabtree Bible.

She was a 1942 graduate of Flintstone High School.

Frieda was a previous member of the Piney Plains United Methodist Church in Little Orleans, where she served as pianist for many years. For a time, she taught piano in her home.

She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter #3 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hagerstown, Md.

She is survived by two sons; Paul N. Smith, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, and Steven J. Smith and wife, Nancy, all of Hagerstown, Md.; one sister, Ruby Shriver; and one brother, Merle Bible, both of Flintstone, Md.; grandchildren, Kevin P. Smith, Matthew Smith, Kristi Harsh, Joshua and Kelly Smith; and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Lily Smith, James Painter, Adam and Claire Smith, Aiden and Emery Smith.

A service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Piney Plains United Methodist Church, 12708 Faith Circle, Little Orleans, Md. Rev. John Close will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery, in Flintstone.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the Church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
