Flossie Effie Everts, age 75, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Born August 8, 1936, in Hancock, Md., she was the only daughter of the late Alonza E. Brakeall and Minnie Mae Wink Brakeall Johnson, and the widow of Thurman E. Everts, whom she married July 1955.
Prior to being a loving mother and homemaker, she was employed by Superior Dairy of Hagerstown, Md., and Fleming Oil Company of Hancock, Md.
She was a life-long member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Hancock, Md., where she held the position of assistant treasurer for over 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Mark L. Everts of Hancock, Md., and Lee E. Everts and wife, Lori, of Needmore, Pa.; one brother, Edward Otis Brakeall and wife, Adele, of Hancock, Md.
A Service of the Holy Eucharist will be be held Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 2 E. High St. Hancock, Md. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Thompson Road, Needmore, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
