Evelyn Diane Newkirk

Evelyn Diane Bishop Lynn Newkirk, age 86, wife of the late Neil W. Newkirk of 370 Tollgate Ridge, Hancock, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Commonwealth Senior Living in Williamsburg, VA.

Born Sunday, November 20, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alonza and Reba Bowers Bishop, of Warfordsburg, PA.

Evelyn was a former member of Black Oak Mennonite Church, Warfordsburg, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford, Newton, and Thurmond; an infant sister; and four nephews, Jeffery, Jeremy, Gregory, and Donald.

Evelyn attended school in Warfordsburg and Hancock.  She was associated with the Lynn Theater in Berkeley Springs, WV and had worked part-time at Fox’s Pizza Shop in Hancock, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00am at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 W Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.  Interment will follow at Black Oak Mennonite Church, Stoneybreak Road, Warfordsburg, PA.
