Donna Jean Golden, 83, of Hancock, Md., died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born in Berkeley Springs December 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Romanus G. and Ida Virginia (Harden) Waugh; and the wife of Herbert I. Golden, Sr., of Hancock, whom she married on October 30, 1949.
She was a member of the Jr.O.U.A.M. #17, in Berkeley Springs.
She had been employed with Londontown Corp, in Hancock, as a seamstress for 32 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Herbert I. Golden, Jr. and wife, Audrey, and Ronald E. Golden and wife, Debbie; five daughters, Beverly E. Huntzberry and husband, Dave, Donna G. Mason, Pamela J. Golden, Penny S. Pittman and husband, Randy, and Barbara A. Younker and husband, Steve; three sisters, Madeline Flowers, Lee Esta McBee, and Loretta Miller; a brother, Richard Waugh; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Waugh; a sister Rita Lee Fadley; and an infant daughter, Brenda Lee Golden.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2016, at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church, 12709 Faith Circle N.E., Little Orleans, Md., with Rev. Sean Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and at the church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
The family requests that memorial donations, in her name, may be made to the Washington County Commission on Aging, 535 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
