Donald Lloyd Pittman, 89, went into the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 1, 2023, surrounded by his family. 

He was born January 10, 1934, to Paul G. and Lelia B. (Millis) Pittman, in Mercersburg, PA. 

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlene C. (Werner) Pittman; three children, Shannon (John) Thompson, Valerie (Rick) Brown, and Clay (Deborah) Pittman; eight grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Phyllis Pittman, “Bus” Wallace Pittman, “Skip” Delmar Pittman, and Devonah Pittman Karnehm.

Don and his wife, Arlene, are members of Victory Baptist Church in Norwalk, Ohio and attended Needmore Bible Church after moving to Pennsylvania.  The Pittmans also hosted the Royal Rangers Pow Wow Camp for the last 25 years where many young boys were presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and taught survival techniques.

Mr. Pittman was a founding member of the Banshees Fast Draw Club in Sandusky, Ohio, which is still in existence as the oldest Ohio Fast Draw Association International Club, named Banshees for a WWII Submarine Crew.

Donald Pittman retired from New Departure Hyatt, a GM manufacturing facility, in Sandusky, Ohio where he was employed for 30 years.  He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, loved and admired by anyone that knew him.

The family will receive friends at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Rd, Needmore, PA., on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 11am-1pm.  Funeral services at 1pm at the church followed by graveside interment at Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church, Thompson Road, Needmore, PA.  A meal will be provided at Needmore Bible Church following interment.
