Dolores Younker Creek, of Hancock, died September 22, 2013, at her home. Born in Hancock, July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin A. Younker, and M. Rosalie (Sensel) Younker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Creek; her half-brother, John Culp; half-sister, Helen Keefer; her brother, Lowell Younker; and her son, Leon A. Creek.

Surviving are two sons, David Creek and wife, Karen, and Scott Creek and wife, Vicky; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Creek, widow of Leon Creek. She is also survived by a brother, Arnold L. Younker and wife, Faye; one sister, Yetta J. Souders; one sister-in-law, Francis Younker; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was retired from Nationwide Insurance Company, with a broker’s license in Security Exchange. She was an associate there from 1950 to 1974, at which time she became a full agent and worked at that capacity until 1990. Dolores was co-founder of the Home Center Inc., and Creek IV Management Corp. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Altar Guild member, and past member of the choir. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the American Legion, and was active in many civic organizations.

The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, in Hancock, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. A prayer will be offered by the Rev. Allan Weatherholt Jr. at the close of the visitation.

A special thank you to Shirley Cubbage, Judy McCarty, and Zach Emerson for all their caring and thoughtfulness. Hospice of Washington County was another of mother’s blessings.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
