Dolly Adeline McCarty

Dolly A. McCarty, 89, of Hagerstown. MD, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, in Williamsport, MD.

Dolly was born in Orchard Ridge to Frank Weller and Frances Weller-Funk on July 27, 1937. She proudly called herself a “Pig Skinner."

She attended school in Hancock, MD.

She was a member of Orchard Ridge First Church of God.

Dolly worked most of her adult life for Sheetz. Retiring after 20+years as a District Manager.

Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McCarty; son, Gary “Dave” McCarty (Diane); daughter, Penny Morgan; grandsons, Bo McCarty and Curt Shaw and great-great-granddaughter, Aubree Berrier; brothers, Sonny and Johnny; sisters, Betty, Peenie & Mae. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Dolly is survived by her son, Paul “Doug” McCarty and his wife Darlene; grandchildren, Brian McCarty, April Daley, Brandy Allen, Vernon McCarty, Chris Morgan and Jeff Shaw; great grandchildren, Hannah, Elizabeth, Emily, Kelsie, Kailee, Brianna, Braylon, Trenton, Garrett, Josie, John, and Sophia; great great-grandchildren, Zayden, Brantley, Bryson, Jackson, and Kane; and many nieces and nephews

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Washington County

Dolly’s family also wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of Washington County and Williamsport Retirement Home for their kindness and compassion during her illness,

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
