David Tyrone Schetrompf, age 63, of Hancock, died on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Winchester Medical Center, in Winchester, Va.
Born Saturday, March 7, 1953, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Homer Eugene, Sr. and Charlene (Stotler) Schetrompf.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School.
He was a member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, in Hancock.
He was retired from the Garden State Tannery, in Williamsport, Md., where he had been employed as a guard.
He is survived by one daughter, Tonya Munday and husband, Robert, of Hancock; one son, Jason Schetrompf and wife, Jennie, of McConnellsburg, Pa.; seven sisters, Robin Mosier, Kathy McCarty, Patty Schetrompf, Vickie Frederick, and Sherry Weaver, all of Hancock, Tina McCormick, of Mars, Pa., and Gloria McKinley, of Hagerstown, Md.; one brother, Mike Schetrompf, of Hancock; and two grandchildren, Hayden Schetrompf and Charleigh Schetrompf.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Schetrompf and Homer Eugene Schetrompf, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 2 East High Street, Hancock, from 6 until 8:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Damascus Church Cemetery, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
