Darwish Moghbel, age 27, of Hagerstown, died in his sleep, Sunday, January 22, 2012, near Hancock, Md.
Born July 4, 1984, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Claudia Goertz, of Knoxville, Md., and Hamid Moghbel, of Hagerstown, Md.
From 1984 to 1988, Darwish attended the Lincoln Intermediate Unit, Preschool Program, at the Franklin Learning Center in Chambersburg, Pa.; 1988 to 2000, he attended the Franklin Learning Center in Chambersburg, Pa.; 2000 to 2002, he attended Washington County Job Development Center in Smithsburg, Md.; and in 2005 he graduated from Marshall Street School, in Hagerstown. In 2005 Darwish started the Adult Pathways Program, at Way Station in Frederick, Md.; and in the past two years, he attended the Washington County Human Development Council, Day Habilitation Program, in Hagerstown.
Besides his parents, Darwish is survived by his 29 year-old sister, Hannah Moghbel, of Hagerstown; his 32 year-old brother, Ali Moghbel, of Hamburg, Germany; maternal grandmother, Baerbel Goertz, of Colorado Springs, Co.; and paternal grandmother, Afsar Hatami, of Irvine, Ca.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Adalbert Goertz, and Mortesa Moghbel.
Services will be announced at a later date.
