Clarence Pryor, Jr.

Clarence Pryor, Jr., age 100, of Hancock, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Berkeley Springs, WV.

Born Sunday, March 1, 1925, in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence and Vera Clark Pryor.

Clarence worked at Fairchild in Hagerstown, MD for many years and went on to retire from the Maryland State Correctional Facility.

He was a member of the Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and gardener.

Clarence served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his spouse, Lena Jane Pryor; one son, Tom Pryor and wife Beverly of Hancock, MD; one daughter, Regina Beddow and husband Richard of Harpers Ferry, WV; five grandchildren, Tim, Steve, Cole, Richard, and Becky; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Grooms of West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Hilda Boden Pryor; one brother, Elwood Pryor; three sisters, Helen Sharpe, Florence Bivins, and Gladys Gruszczynski; and one grandson, Randy Beddow.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00p.m. with one-hour prior visitation at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Tim Swindell will officiate. Burial will follow at Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
