Carolyn Ellen "Karren"  Bowers, age 52, of Hancock, died on Monday, August 25, 2014, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born March 9, 1962, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Ellen Hixon, of Warfordsburg Pa.

She was a 1980 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, John M. Bowers, Sr., whom she married December 30, 1981, in Hagerstown, Md.; one son, John M. Bowers, Jr., of Hancock; and one sister, Anne Getz, of Hagerstown, Md.

A service will be held on Thursday, August 28, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. John Lombardi will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
