Carl William Stumpf, age 88, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Saturday, December 31 at his home.
Born Sunday, April 29, 1928, in Middle River, Md., he was the son of the late William Henry and Freida M. (Fischer) Stumpf, and the loving husband of Patricia (Yeagy) Stumpf for 64 years. They were married on November 9, 1952.
He served in the U.S. Air Force after high school.
He was a Christian, and a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus, and he worshiped at the Buck Valley Christian Church.
Carl owned the Circle Contracting Company for 32 years, where he worked as an excavator. In 1985, he and his wife moved to their cherished Sideling Hill area farm, where they farmed full time.
He was the devoted father of Karen Burcham and husband, Marvin, Kathy Stumpf, and Karla Graul and husband, Barry; and the proud grandfather of Elizabeth and Rebecca Burcham.
A Celebration of his Life service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.
The burial will be private, with only the family attending.
