Calvin Winters Peck

Calvin Winters Peck, age 91, of Hancock, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his home.

Born Friday, October 6, 1933, in Fulton County, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Pearl Powers Peck.

Calvin served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War. He was a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol. He worked for ten years at Western Auto in Hancock, MD. He went on to retire from the Western Regional Lab State of Maryland Highway Department.

He was a member of May’s Chapel Christian Church, Buck Valley Methodist Church, and Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church.

Calvin served on the Hancock Rescue Squad. He played guitar in a Christian band. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and carpenter.

He is survived by one brother, Ezra Rodger Peck and wife Janet of Winchester, VA; one sister-in-law Bonnie Peck of Killen, TX; caretaker, Marlene Black of Big Cove Tannery, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Moynelle F. Peck; two sisters, Frances G. Powell and Dolly M. Yost; and one brother John J. Peck.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at Pleasant Grove Pentecostal Church, 3013 Pleasant Grove Rd, Warfordsburg, PA, with one-hour prior visitation. Pastors Russell Hoffman, Delmas Bard, and Denny Plessinger will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Calvin’s name can be made to the Tri-State Honor Guard 527 N. Washington St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 and/or Hospice of Washington County 1710 Underpass Way, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
