Betty Jane Knable, age 79, of Needmore, died on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Md.

Born June 16, 1935, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Russell and Verona Clark Golden.

She was a 1953 graduate of Hancock High School, and a member of the Hancock Assembly of God Church.

She was a former waitress; a seamstress for Sagner, Inc.; and she retired from Londontown Mfg., where she was a presser.

She was a devoted  wife, mother and homemaker; and she loved researching genealogy. She also enjoyed country atmosphere and family pictures.

She is survived by her husband, Ray R. Knable, whom she married on March 27, 1964, at the Hancock Assembly of God Church; one son, Allen Knable and his wife, Sandra, of Everett, Pa.; one daughter, Stacy Knable, of Hancock, Md.; grandchildren, Christine, Juliana and Kari Knable, Devan Powell, and Haiden Knode.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Unger, and Catherine Clingerman; four brothers, Bud McKinley, Jim Golden, Paul "Pete" Golden, and John Golden.

A service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Hancock, Md. Pastor Don Preston will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Semetery, in Needmore, Pa.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
